Second Annual Fundraiser
An incredibly hard-working and talented group of friends and neighbors recently hosted a truly fun fundraiser at Debbie’s and my home in Coconut Grove. The “not so silent” silent auction was like no other. Friends, neighbors and family donated gifts of their time and heart: a canoe tour in the Everglades, a personal love poem, help on a college essay, a sailboat ride on Biscayne Bay, a handmade quilt, and much, much more.
We had a lemonade stand, face painting and games for kids. And for adults: delicious food and drink and the pleasure of sharing time in a beautiful place with others who believe that health care is a human right. The Florida Health Justice Project is now almost two years old, and we are thriving because our work is helping to increase health care access and decrease health inequities in Florida. With deep gratitude to everyone who was part of this event, Miriam |
