existing structural inequities. Over the past few weeks, a number of reports, both in mainstream media and among policy analysts, have documented evidence of the disproportionate negative impact of COVID-19 on low-income communities of color. Florida, one of the nation’s most diverse states, and one of just 14 states that have not expanded Medicaid, is uniquely susceptible to health disparities amid the COVID-19 crisis. |
